| Troop 19 Wreath Assembly 2008 |

On Friday, November 28, the day after Thanksgiving, Troop 19 held its annual wreath assembly day. In its only fund-raiser of the year, the troop sells decorated and undecorated wreaths during a 4 week period before Thanksgiving. After wreath kick-off day, scouts sell to family, friends and neighbors. At the end, each scout is given a prize. Scouts who sold the most get to pick first. On assembly day, the troop worked in 4 shifts to prepare over 1600 wreaths at a company where Mr. Bisbee works. There are many jobs from decorating to cutting wire or even just making the tags. Bows are kept separate so they are not squished during transport. The three scouts who probably were there helping the most were Nate, who was there the whole day, Luke (me) who only missed an hour, and Ethan who missed a trip to Vermont to help everyone get their wreaths to deliver. Mrs. Paulson made a yummy turkey stew, and Mr. Howe baked fresh rolls. There was also some great fruit, fudge, brownies, cookies, donuts and donut holes to eat during break! Thanks to Mrs. Paulson who served as Wreath Coordinator and to all other adults who helped. Scouts typically deliver the wreaths they sold over the next couple of days.
